Course Description
Prerequisite: Minimum grade of C in ENGL 115, ENGL 103W, ENGL 103, or ENGL 104, or English placement test score (Level 2 or higher ). Concurrent enrollment in ENGL 115 allowed. An introduction to the fields of women's and gender studies. Emphases include the representation of women and the LGBTQ+ community in fine arts, pop culture, athletics, and the entertainment media. A global and multicultural perspective is used to discuss issues of representation in the humanities as well as how the humanities are used as educational and activist tools.[Semester Offered: Spring]
