About Grants
Grants are a great way to pay for education costs without having to use loans or other aid options that may require repayment.
SMC partners with the federal and state government to provide multiple grant programs to students who demonstrate financial need or who meet other eligibility criteria. Eligibility for all federal need-based grant programs is determined through the bet36体育在线 Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Most state grant programs are also need-based and may require the completion of a FAFSA.
Below is a list of the most common types of programs for which SMC students may be eligible. Please review each program’s information to determine if you may be eligible and any additional steps that may be required.
Federal Grant Programs
Pell Grant
Awarded to students based on financial need as determined by the FAFSA.
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG)
